Should There Be a Meeting Table in the Executive Room?
An executive room is a working room. The desk, seating and — if the plan allows — a separate meeting surface are the furniture spine. Whether a meeting table is needed is read from the square metres and the meeting rhythm.
What a Meeting Table Does in the Executive Room
This room is where partners and the team are received. A separate meeting table tells a guest the talk will sit on its own surface, not on the edge of the desk. Signatures and files sit there too.
Size is written to need. Weekly crowded meetings ask for a large table; the same table chokes the room for a talk of three or four. In a small team a round or oval top softens the corner and gives everyone the same distance.

How to Build a Working Room
The job of an executive room is that the day’s work can run. A meeting table is not an extra for show; it is a surface for files, a screen and enough seats. Decoration supports that surface; it does not replace it.
When the table sits in the same material and colour family as the rest of the room, the room reads as one sentence. A visitor sees a formal room from where the table sits and how the chairs line up. That does not promise the outcome of the work; it sets the frame of the meeting.
Where Should the Meeting Table Sit?
Place and light are one decision. The table should take daylight without washing a screen. Light from a window makes faces readable; light that hits straight on tires the eye and kills the display.
Meetings are not only daytime. For evening and winter hours a pendant or a track should light the middle band of the table evenly. Chair count is written to the length of the table; a chair that does not hold the back through a long sitting wastes the table.
