An open-plan office in a consulting firm does not raise performance on its own. The job of the person who sets the room is to open a generous volume and split the team bench from the client room. When design criteria are written, satisfaction and output get easier; they are not inevitable.

An open office is the area where the team shares one floor. Collaboration and motivation are seen more often here. In consulting that layout is used for analysis and slide work; the paid meeting stays closed. It cannot be written as the model “most preferred” by every firm.

In consulting processes, making each client feel attended to happens in a closed room with a clear agenda. Reaching an expert is not enough; the process must be reviewed and the problem written. Technology can raise output; screens do not multiply before the aim is clear. Writing the target to be improved comes before the room decision.

What to Watch in an Open Consulting Office
