Lighting Recommendations That Increase Efficiency

Firms try to lift output with training and bonuses; for daily focus, light is a quieter lever. The right lighting is written before furniture in an office interior. The headings below are not a universal ranking; they are the points often skipped in the workspace.

Let Daylight In

Daylight sits close to the body clock and costs little as a source. If blinds, rollers or panel curtains stay shut, that source is wasted. Level Matters in Light Too

Light level follows the work. General office work is often planned around 500 lux; fine work can go toward 2000 lux. Too little light leans toward drowsiness; too much leans toward headache. These figures are not a universal rule; they are a range set to the task.

Set Colour Temperature to the Work

Colour temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). Up to 2700 K reads yellowish, 3000–3500 K whiter, 5000 K and above bluish. A workspace meant to stay alert often sits near daylight at 5000–7000 K; a rest corner can stay warmer. A warm room is not the same Kelvin on every desk.

Do Not Skip Placement

The right fitting still produces glare in the wrong place. Seat direction is written first so daylight does not hit the monitor. Artificial light from the side, not straight over the desk, also cuts bounce. A linear run or evenly spaced spots around the desks give both level and appearance. Pendant indirect light sits more quietly in a break or informal corner. A meeting room needs a blackout curtain for presentations.

Keep Coloured Light off the Work Area

Neon and coloured light look cheerful; on the workspace they produce a sense of movement and make it harder to sit still. They can be used with control in a lobby or coffee corner. Neutral light along the desks tires people less.
